Have a parent or counselor read over the essay, too, to catch any errors you might have missed. While driving in my car, I’d let my mind wander to movies like Big Hero Six and contemplate if a zero-friction bike really was possible. I’d create ideas like an AI highway system that tells drivers exactly when to switch lanes based on timing and calculus to prevent braking from nearby cars. But that’s not nearly as scary as it seems, because you get to choose what to share and how to share it. While building a community at school rebuilt my confidence, I still found I enjoyed being alone at times. Your college application essay needs to breathe life into your application. It should capture your genuine personality, explaining who you are beyond a series of grades, test scores, and after-school activities. Grades and other attributes are of course, given preference, but a well written essay can tip the scales in your favour regardless of whether the student has low grades. Most likely, the university gave you a prompt or a choice of prompts to write about. If you feel yourself drawn to a particular prompt, think about why you're being drawn to it. As long as your message is succinct and to the point, brief, and realistic your essay should have an impact. Make sure you look through all of the prompts for the university you are applying to and contemplate each of them. Take your time, don’t rush as this will become the foundation of your essay. Take a notebook and write down whatever comes to your mind that would fit with that particular prompt. Make sure you include personal experiences with each one.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for addiction, also known as Cognitive Behavior Therapy or CBT for short, is a type of “talk” therapy, based on the psychological principles of behaviorism - which is about how peoples behaviors can be controlled or modified, and theories of cognition - which are focused on understanding how people think, feel, and understand themselves and the world around them. Instead of just observing and controlling behaviors, there is also attention paid to what is going on in the mind of the person, and how those perceptions, thoughts, and feeling lead them to behave in particular ways. CBT particularly explores the conflicts between what we want to do and what we actually do. Addiction is a good example of this kind of conflicted behavior - we might know what is healthy and safe, which is to avoid addictive behaviors and substances, yet we choose to go ahead and engage in the behavior anyway, sometimes leading to very upsetting consequences for ourselves and other people. And while people with addictions may regret these behaviors, it can be hard to stop repeating them, sometimes without the person really knowing why. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Addiction Addiction is a clear example of a pattern of behavior which goes against what the person experiencing it wants to do. While people trying to overcome addictive behaviors will often say they want to change those  behaviors, and may genuinely want to quit alcohol, drugs, or other compulsive behaviors that are causing them problems, they find it extremely difficult to do so. According to the cognitive behavioral therapy approach, addictive behaviors, such as drinking, drug use, problem gambling, compulsive shopping, video game addiction, food addiction, and other types of harmful excessive behavior, are the result of inaccurate thoughts and subsequent negative feelings. Cognitive behavioral therapy explains this by clarifying the way that people’s thoughts and emotions interact. Psychologists realized that many of us have thoughts, based on beliefs that are untrue, unrealistic, or impossible to live up to, and these thoughts, in turn, cause negative feelings which feed anxiety, depression and conditions like addiction. By systematically recording our thoughts and associated feelings, along with the events that trigger those thoughts and feelings, and the behavior that we carry out as a result, we can begin to change the automatic processes that sabotage our efforts at changing our behaviors. By looking at patterns of thoughts and feelings that we repeatedly experience, we can begin to change those thoughts by consciously looking at situations in more realistic ways, that do not automatically lead to negative emotions and resulting cycles of harmful behaviors. By rewarding ourselves for the healthier behaviors we replace those harmful behaviors with, over time, the healthier behaviors become associated with more positive emotions, and become more automatic. CBT has an excellent track record, with numerous studies demonstrating its effectiveness in treating depression, anxiety and other conditions, including addiction. The CBT approaches that became popularized towards the end of the 20th century are themselves being refined and replaced by so-called “third wave” of behavior therapy, which focus on mindfulness, acceptance and being in the moment. The Articles of Confederation failed because of the fact that congress did not have a central control over any of the states. Since the government was made up of only one branch, congress was unable to control all of the states. It was weak and it lacked the powers that were needed to run America effectively and efficiently. The Constitution ultimately had everything that the Articles of Confederation lacked. The Constitution established an office for the President and the Supreme Court. The Articles of Confederation was the first formal government in America. It had few powers, few achievements, and few weaknesses. The Articles of Confederation were able to deal with foreign countries, and settle disputes among the states. They were also able to declare war and make peace. The Articles of Confederation achieved to end the American Revolution successfully. It provided for the physical and political development of the western lands and also made the United States recognized as an independent nation. Along with there powers and achievements there were weaknesses. They had no power to levy taxes. This gave minor financial assistance to the government. Without any money coming in to the government, congress was unable to pay their soldiers and maintain an army. The Articles of Confederation had no federal court. They had no executive branch and no judiciary, /this made it so that border disputes were hardly resolved and each state setting up their own set of laws. They l acked of a supervisory control which caused trade issues. The states used different tax systems when buying and selling items from one another. Other weaknesses were that they consisted of one body and each state had one vote. With the Articles of Confederation deficient in governmental powers, the federalists wanted to ratify it to make a central government. James Madison felt that something had to be done quickly because he strongly opinioned for the idea of a central government. He believed it was a way to have order and stability for the nation. Thus the Constitution was formed. The Constitution established a Congress, a Supreme Court, and a President. It also established the House of Representatives and a Senate. The Constitution made up for all of the Articles of Confederations weaknesses. It granted power on taxes and the armed forces, and it gave the power to states and government unlike the Articles of Confederation which only gave to the states. The Constitution was a compromise. In order to get things done no one state should be unwilling to compromise for the good of the nation. It was a form of central government. Although it is brief it leads to future generations and can change when needed b ecause there is an amendment process. The Constitution has a preamble which describes the basis and purposes of government. The body of the Constitution is divided into seven articles which is broken up into sections and amendments. The Constitution still continues to work today because it leads to the future generations, and it is non-specific. The Constitution can be interpreted differently as the time changes, and it also has an amendment process. In the preamble it describes the basis and purposes of government. It has not changed much since it was created, and has a base of twenty-seven amendments with the first ten the Bill of Rights. The Constitution was successful because it established a government that applied to the nation and met most of the nation?s concerns. Unlike the Articles of Confederation it gave power to the states and to the government and not just a state. The Articles of Confederation failed because it could not have a main control over any state. Each state had its own set of laws. The Articles of Confederation was bound to fail because of its lack and weak control.
